(Hyderabad, Netidhatri)

They are the elders in film industry. They used to produce films relating to social awareness. Their films reflect the lives of the poor. At the same time they even try to teach lesson to the rulers. They also try to show the way to youth how to remain role model in the society. They produce films in much interesting manner and earn profits in the form of collections. But in the real face of them is totally different in their daily life. The ideals shown in their pictures confined to theatres only but not to follow. Really speaking they never bother about the welfare of the cine workers. Their behaviour against the workers of film industry is totally different. Such elders never hesitate to occupy the lands of their own industry workers who eke out their lives with their insufficient incomes. It is totally different that have shown in their pictures on how to fight against land grabbing in which they themselves indulging such illegal activities. Telling the morals and practicing them are different, both are not same. In order to understand the illegal activities the engage in, let us have a look on ‘Chitrapuri colony’ workers. Once you hear the problems of those innocent workers then you can clear understand on how these ‘elders’ are indulging in such immoral activities. Really speaking this matter of difficult solution shall be taken to the Government. With the interference of government their problem may get solved.
Poisonous circles in colourful field
Film industry looks like much colourful and attracts everybody towards it. Most of them in this industry live in the fantasy of dreams. Their lips always ready to preach morals, which they never follow. It is an illusionary world. Such people never hesitate to play with the lives of those people who are week and can’t resist. It is not possible for a single person to produce a film. Only with hero, producer or director film never get produced. Just having sufficient money is not enough to make a picture. Behind the screen involvement and hard work of number of workers involved in successfully completing a film before it exhibited in theatres. So when all the people involved in making a film remain happy, then only the industry can flourish. But it is not happening due to the attitude of some elders of the film industry. When all the people belong to industry at all levels remain in happy, then only the industry is considered as in well to do condition. When we observe the lives of number of cine workers, we can understand that lot of people in this industry have been leading their lives in unhappy circumstances. Hunger and thirst remain always in coexistence with them. The only weakness to appear on screen is making them to work constantly under unfavourable conditions. This weakness of them turned into investment for the producers. Observing the plight of such workers, Government decided to give house sights to elevate them from the grief for some extent which they are experiencing. Some of the cine elders ‘eye’ fell on these sights and they entered into field to grab them in systematic manner.
Nobody will come forward
In reality nobody ask anybody to produce a film, but in the name of producers some people begins to play with the lives of the film workers. ‘Chitrapuri Colony’ remains best example for the illegal attitude of some elders who disguise themselves as producers. Once Congress Government under the leadership of Marri Chennareddy, caused to welcome this film industry to Hyderabad. Marri Chennareddy with his relentless efforts finally succeeded in bringing the Telugu Film Industry from Madras to Hyderabad. Later Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy extended full support for the growth of this industry. In those days cine workers didn’t get suitable recognition in Madras. Even they won’t have any shelters. So then government wanted to show such people some way to eke out their lives. It felt that if they live nearby to the studios they can get some relief. With this intention Government allocated house sights to them along with producers and for the construction of studios. Forty years back this happened but till today cine workers have not received their own sights. Now they have neither sights nor houses. Still sights have not been allocated to them. The present cost of once the land allocated to cine workers now reached to lakhs of rupees. In these circumstances some cine elders entered into field and became successful creating differences among the cine workers. With this ‘Chitrapuri woks’ remain in halt and still not moved a single step. Exactly some of those began to occupy the cine workers lands. Among them producers are in forefront.
Chitrapuri colony meant for cine workers
These sites were allocated to workers belong to 24 crafts. Those cine elders entered in these sites gradually built row houses by occupying those sites. Now 250 such cine elders’ presence in these sites is the main cause for the problem. In those days land cost was less and allocation of land was not reached concluding point. Now those lands turned like gold and those elders who eyed on them, began their constructions and successfully completed them. Expecting such illegal occupations, then government issued G.Os clearly stating that, there is no place for those who are income tax payers in this land. This is old story. All such G.Os became old but in force. In course of time Telangana State formed and new government came into power. Then the government took some decisions in favour of cine producers and changed G.Os. With this cine elders freely entered in to those lands and began to grab them. Even some BRS leaders also have their homes in these row houses. Now poor cine actors and workers remain on roads without having any shelter.
Twenty seven thousand workers
At present in the Telugu film industry total one lakh workers belong to 24 crafts have been working to eke out their lives. Now the sights of such poor people under occupation of powerful cine elders. Suppose if the sites allocated to common people in other areas, nobody will have dare enough to occupy them because of the fear of repulse from the people. Whereas these cine workers remain keep themselves silent because of their dependency on the industry. Even today if the Government took proper action, the workers can get their lands back. The Government involvement only will make justice to them. Lesson shall be taught to those who constructed row houses in the sites of these poor workers. The workers can’t raise their voice because of their dependency. The land grabbers of ‘Chitrapuri’ shall be removed from the illegal occupations.
