During 2014 election campaign as BJP candidate for Prime Minister Post Narendra Damodar Das Modi portrayed himself as a pragmatic leader who could turn around the economy which is in underperforming state. BJP emerged victorious with clear cut majority in the Parliament. On 26th, May 2014 Narendra Modi sworn in as Primi Minister. Immediately after coming to power the Government embarked on several reforms especially transport related infrastructure development and liberalising the rules relating to foreign direct investment in the country.

In his early term Modi also registered two diplomatic achievements. One is Chinese Premier Xi-Jinping visited India in the mid of September month. Another one is granting of VISA to Modi which till then rejected by US Government. Having been granting of this VISA Narendra Modi made successful visit to New York City where he had diplomatic discussions with then US President Barack Obama.

During the tenure of Narendra Modi we can observe the rise of ‘Hindutva’. Till then most of the Hindus in the country were not in united opinion on this concept because the parties those ruled till then had not shown any inclination towards the unification of Hindus. Their main attempt continued on vote bank politics. For this purpose they followed the policy of dividing the Hindu community. The advent of Modi, facilitated the continuous enlightenment among Hindus which began to spread in silent manner. Proof for this is, the continuous decline of ‘communism’. Once it was widely accepted by the people irrespective of religion but lost its prominence due to lack of adaptability to the changes. At the same time this ideology mainly concentrated on minorities especially Muslims. Communists’ greatest failure is non recognition of poor people in the communities which they treated as forward one. Their ideology confined to some groups and sections of the society is the main cause for their downfall. Fall of communists’ is shows how the ‘Hidutva’ rise which cover entire Hindu population. The Congress like parties those who continue to play vote bank politics also lost their ground for their neglect of Hindus. At the same time movement against ‘slaughter of cows’ also got its prominence.

Narendra Modi Government introduced structural reforms in economy which are sweeping in nature meant for the long term benefits. But the temporary disruptions caused by them were not felt by the people and they stood strong enough behind the Government. Among them most far-reaching was demonetization and replacement of Rs.500 and Rs.1000 notes. This announcement had made just before few hours of implementation. This action was to prevent those who have large sums of black money from exchanging in banks. Really this action caused very much difficulty for such black money holders. The media and the supporters of such rich people who accumulated crores of black money created uproar against this action. But the common people fully supported Narendra Modi move. One should not forget the motto in implementing such decision. Behind the screens there held serious discussions on repercussions to be faced after taking this decision. Ultimately black money holders received greatest debacle when failed to change their money into white.

The next step Narendra Modi took was implementing the GST. By introducing this, Government centralised the consumption tax. This suspended the confusing system of local consumption taxes and eliminated effect of cascading tax imposed by various states. These changes caused the slowdown of GDP which recorded 8.2% during the year 2015.

In 2018 Assembly elections were held in five states, where BJP lost power in all these states. Among them Mahdyapradesh, Rajasthan and Chattisgharh were strong holds for BJP. Congress party gained in these elections. Some observers felt these results portended for Naredra Modi and BJP for National Elections set for the spring of 2019. But others expressed their strong opinion that Modi Charisma left intact. While things are going like that on 14th, February 2019 terrorist attack took place in Pulvama were 40 paramilitary members killed. This incident incited anger in entire country. On 26th, February our Air force planes attacked Balakot, in which hundreds of terrorists had been killed. This retaliation act raised the prestige of the Modi Government. This action also had shown the international community on the changed attitude of Present Government. The enthusiasm caused by this success made the Modi and NDA parties to campaign like airwaves. In contrast Congress leader Rahul Gandhi campaign faded away which caused the victory of BJP led NDA group. This time BJP won its own majority to form the government. This time Modi created record of becoming Prime Minister for second time as non-Congress leader.

In the month of October 2019, Modi Government successfully striped downed the autonomy of Jammu-Kashmir State which was long pending and every one the country was in strong opinion that it is highly impossible to revoke Article-370 which giving autonomous status to the state. This is also remained as land mark victory for the Modi government. During 2020 Covid-19 pandemic spread all over the country. Modi Government encouraged the local biotech companies to produce vaccines to prevent this decease. Finally Covid-Shield like vaccines produced and made available to the people. At the same time Modi Government freely distributed this to other countries like Africa. This raised the prestige of our country and began to treat as ‘Viswa Guru’.

During 2020 Modi Government brought agriculture reforms. Really speaking these reforms meant for the benefit of the farmers of our country. These reforms facilitate the farmers to sell their agriculture produce to other states where demand is more without any hassle. Unfortunately the brokers in Punjab and Hariyana began to agitate against these reforms in the name of farmers. Khalistani elements also took advantage of the situation and made their entry in disguise as farmers. No other state in the country is against these reforms except Punjab and Haryana. Finally some unscrupulous elements belong to Khalitani movement entered Delhi and replaced the National Flag with Khalisthani flag at Red Fort. This created tremors and Government resort to take stern action against such elements. These actions continued and successfully prevented the second agitation of these elements. Unfortunately Canada then Prime Minister Justin Trudo also extended his support this agitation which caused deterioration of diplomatic relations between these two nations.
