‘Movie Artists Association’ (MAA) must play a role of big brother in solving the problems of actors. It is the primary responsibility of this association as the name given ‘MAA’ represents the mother. But when observe the activities of this association, we can definitely get doubt if it is Andhra association or Telugu move artists association? This fact shall be known to the people around. The actors belong Telangana must get justice. Thirty years back in the year 1993 this Movie Artist Association (MAA) formed. Chiranjeevi became the first president for this association. Since then till now elections had been held 15 times for this association. Some of those elected as Presidents continued for two terms also. After Chirnajeevi, late Krishna became president for two terms. Likewise Muralimohan, Nagarujuna, Mohanbabu, Nagababu, Nagendraprasad, Shivajiraja, Naresh, Manchu Vishnu became the presidents. None among these presidents belong to Telangana. Let us console ourselves that only heroes have the chance to get elected as presidents. Then Nagababu, Shivaji raja are not heroes. Unfortunately Telangana actors till now didn’t elected as even Vice Presidents. Ali like comedians became General Secretaries. Movie artist association belong to all actors in the film industry. Every time they have been electing either relatives or near and dears. Why such discrimination against Telangana artists? Now this association has 900 members. Among them actors from other states also present. So called elders extended their helping hand to Prakashraj like actors to become President. But they never gave a chance to any Telangana actor. They have no intention to bring forth the Telangana actors. Nothing more than this depravity we can observe. In this association total membership of Telangana actors till now not exceeded to 2%. Even this film industry is being continued in the state of Telangana, still the domination of Andhra actors has been continuing. Governments allocate lands of Telangana, producers make their films in this state and get concessions from the state government but they hesitate to give any chance to Telangana actors.
During the time of united Andhra Pradesh these circumstances used to prevail but after the formation of separate state also Telangana actors constantly subjected to discrimination. Only small number of Andhra actors continuing their authority on this association. Really speaking big heroes came here from Madras when they driven out by local Tamil personalities. It is very unfortunate that film makers give only preference to their local dialect, region and cast but they never bother about the region Telangana. Do they feel that MAA is ‘jaghir’ of their grandfathers? This is very surprising! It is said that the tenure of Manchu Vishnu who elected as MAA president in 2021 extended for another five years as per the unanimous decision of General Body. We can see nothing misery more than this. This is nothing but the foul play of those who called themselves as leaders. In this play along with Chiranjeevi family all other families have their own role. During United Andhrapradesh they cross swords against each other. After the formation of Telangana all have become united. Those who hugged each other like Dhrutarastra without any affection now became united and preventing the Telangana actors to enter into this association. All these families are against Telangana. They even extend support to Prakashraj like actors to become present of MAA but not intended to give support to Telangana actors. This is the historical fact and if we go into the history the nature of everybody gets revealed. Telangana has number of senior and young talented actors. They feel that just giving a small role is big enough for Telangana actors. With their authority, if any Telangana person makes a film, never hesitate to prevent such film to exhibit in Andhra theatres. If Telangana people do the same thing, what they can do? Chiranjeevi like actors know well how Telangana movement continued. Chiranjeevi also knows well what happened to film ‘Arya-2’ during Telangana movement.
Chiranjeevi who doesn’t know the meaning of social Telangana launched ‘Prajarajyam party’ and tried to deceive the people of this region. People only enjoyed the steps and dances of Chiranjeevi in films and never accepted him as a leader. When a journalist asked question about ‘What is social Telangana?’, Chiranjeeve confused himself to give answer. That Chiranjeevi, in the year 2009 when Centre announced separate state, declared his support to united Andhrapradesh. He also resigned to his MLA post. Still now Telangana society is giving honour to him. His own constituency people defeated him in elections. Still he doesn’t change his attitude. He not only disregarded the importance of Telangana struggle but also injustice caused to the people of this region. Even he betrayed this region; still Telangana people have been welcoming his films. Even then also he never change his mind set. His younger brother Pawan Kalyan once said, ‘after the announcement of Telangana I didn’t eat food for 11days’. Pawan Kalyan who expressed his dissatisfaction on the formation of Telangana now continues to speak inopportune manner. Telagana people are hearing his untimely speeches. Even now he has not changed his negative attitude against Telangana and being continued his support to Seemandhra. It has been surprising to hear his double toned voice, on the occasions of speaking in two regions. When he is in Andhra always speak about the injustice caused to that region and while in Telangana he continue to prise the separate state movement. This is nothing but his double standards and also exposes his lack of ideological base. Mohanbabu once said that Hyderabad never belongs to Telangana. On another occasion he said that the lands in Hyderabad belong to Nizam. All these expose his stupidity. When cine industry lies in the hands of such unscrupulous people, Telangana actors never get proper justice. Even in next hundred years we can’t expect the representation of Telangana actors. The injustice caused to them continues forever. Now Mohanbabu played his backyard politics and became successful in extending the tenure of his son Manchu Vishnu for another five years as MAA president. Telangana actors never get proper representation under such crooked politics. Now gradually heroes from Telangana have been coming into limelight. It is the proper time for Andhra actors to change their attitude. Otherwise they have to face another cine movement!
