HYDERABAD,NETIDHATHRI:
For earning money some corporate hospitals are being involved in inhuman activities in the name of treatment. Rohini Hospital in Hanmakonda remains best example for such activities. It is known fact to everybody that every hospital has the responsibility to keep aside the expiry medicines. Unfortunately some hospitals are applying these expiry medicines on patients who admitted for treatment. Pharmacists Welfare Association founding president Battini Satyananarayana Goud continuing his fight against such fraudulent activities occurring in those hospitals. He exposed how some hospitals extending their cooperation to some medical shops who involving in frauds in selling the medicines. Recently he got the information that, the Rohini hospital which has good reputation in Warangal district has been using the expiry medicines for its patients. Immediately he kept vigilance on how the hospital is using the medicines. Finally he exposed how the medical shop in the hospital indulging in the sale of expiry medicines. Already there are some allegations on this hospital. In previous occasion one fire accident also occurred here. In that incident two patients died of suffocation. Number of patients suffered being chocked. At that time patients joined in other hospitals for treatment. Battina Satyanarayana Goud exposed the fraudulent activities of Rohini hospital while chatting with Katta Raghavendra Rao, Editor of Netidhatri.
While showing the expiry medicines those sold in the medical shop of this hospital, he alleged that the fraudulent activities of hospital reached to peak stage. He collected some receipts from the medical shop relating to expiry medicines and shown to Netidhatri. When such big hospitals indulging in such activities, how can a common man get confidence on corporate treatment? With the fraudulent activities of one or two hospitals create damage to the reputation of all other hospitals. Such activities create fear among ordinary people to get treatment. Already corporate hospitals got the name of squeezing the money from the people sometimes compels the patients to sell out their properties to pay their hospital bill. In our country hospitals are being considered as temples for making patients to recover from their health problems with their treatment. It is unfortunate that Government reluctance to take action against this hospital even lot of allegations have coming. In previous lot of complaints were given against this hospital to Drugs Control officials. Then these officials informed about these complaints to pharmacists and used to protect them, Battini said. “I have full details regarding to them. Drug control wing is not showing any interest to take action. With this hospital is now behaving as it like. Now they are forcibly using such expiry medicines to the illiterate and innocent patients” he detailed.
The Pharmacist welfare association, Hanmakonda once made the drug control officials to make ride on the medical shop and caught in red handed lakhs of worth medicines. Still there was no use because this hospital management is highly influential so that no concerned official not in a position to take action against it. If any other hospital faced such allegations as like Rohini hospital, by this time it might have closed. It seems that this hospital management might be in the confidence that nobody can do any action against it. Along with using such medicines hospital is imposing lot of fee against the patients. The hospital has the responsibility to save the patients from danger caused by disease. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy once told that, those who indulge in fraudulent activities never be excused. Now the time came for him to resort to action. Healthcare minister Rajanarasimha has to take proper steps to stop such improper activities of hospitals.
The details of expiry medicines sold must come out. Inquiry should also be done on the activities of the hospital. How the condition of the patients those who received treatment should be exposed and detailed report must prepare. The fact relating to no proper facilities in the hospital already exposed. Colluding with the companies those giving high profits, the hospital is indulging in heinous crime by giving expiry medicines to patients which needed immediate action. The medical hospital in the hospital is running without getting proper certificate. Still this medical shop is freely selling the medicines related to food items. They know well this activity is criminal in nature, still they are continuing without any fear. Even people also must be careful enough against such hospitals. In general with the recommendation of RMP doctors in villages, people used to come to this hospital for treatment. The people belong to rural areas are being innocent on the activities of such hospitals becomes prey in the form of paying high amount of fees and taking the expiry medicines given by the hospital. For sending such patients RMPs in villages get their commission as usual. Drug control official should take action on such fraudulent activities. High priority should be given to the health of people, instead of giving preference to the hospital. Even such huge amounts of expiry medicines caught in red handed why action has not been initiated against this hospital? Drug control officials have the responsibility to give proper answer for this question. At the same time, responsibility also lies on the people to know about the frauds occurring in the name of treatment and giving medicines. “We will prepare action plan in soon. We will also prepare the names of the hospitals indulging fraudulent activities. We will organise enlightenment programmes in all regions to make understand the people about the corruption involved in this field”, Battini Satyanarayana Goud said to ‘Netidhatri’.
