There is immediate response to the story published in ‘Neti Dhatri’ in the heading of ‘Godown…golmal’ (Fraud business in the name of godowns). Civil supplies department immediately entered into the field to find out the facts behind the mischief in the name of godowns. Now fraudulent millers fell in dilemma and not finding any way to come out of this situation. Civil supplies Commissioner wrote a letter to Warangal district Collector asking him go conduct inquiry on this mischief activity of millers. Collector also became serious on those responsible officials of civil supplies department and ordered to submit a report regarding to this matter. It is learnt that some officials already visited in secret the godown which became the centre point for all this fraudulent activity. It is also learnt that officials are deliberately keeping the facts revealed during their inquiry. Till now most of the millers are showing rice bags stored in a particular godown as belong to them. Like this the godown became like ‘lifeline’ for most of the millers. Entire episode is well known to civil supplies officials. It is also well known to them whom the godown originally belongs to.
The officials have also fully aware that which millers are showing the rice bags of the same godown as their stock pile. Here nothing is there to hide and field level responsible officers fully aware of this fraud. Now civil supplies officials are pretending to surprise on this episode. Most of the millers are showing the same godown and the inspecting officials writing down their reports as said by the millers. Like this millers are earning crores of rupees in illegal manner and the officials are receiving lakhs of rupees for their extended cooperation. At the same time they took all precautionary measures to prevent any leak regarding this matter. In general millers have very good close connections with political leaders. This is also one reason for the officials to write reports in favour of the millers. Unfortunately now these officials remain as scapegoats for their doings and amorousness. While doing so they never think about the consequences if this fraud gets exposed. Temporary desires made them to fell in the pit themselves dug. Now present government is very much serious about this fraud in which officials extended their helping hand. If once commit any mistake with fear, it is highly impossible to come out of that slough. This is the fact proved in the case of officials who indulged in illegal activity to meet their ardent desire.
Now officials those responsible can’t escape from this corruption. This type of illegal activity is not confined to Warangal. It is happening in entire Telangana state. When this fraud get exposed, the repercussions created, fell the officials of other districts in utmost despair caused by fear. Corruption became normal practice, but this episode is not only corruption but also severe crime. It is learnt that civil supplies officials once again visit the godown to conduct inquiry on the report. The repercussions created the by the published story ‘Gomal Godowns’ now fixed the officials in the clutch of corruption. How much time the officials will take to submit the report is to wait and see. At this juncture they can’t prepare report against the previous one that already submitted by them. At the same time they also could not support the report that submitted. This we can say really as very much difficult situation for the officials. If they will take some time to submit the report, in this mean time it may possible to manage officials from bottom to higher level. In this back ground Civil Supplies Commissioner and Collector should impose pressure on submitting the report as early as possible. Then only this ‘illegal danda’ gets fully exposed. If the inquiry is done by the officials of the same department may not give fruitful results. Special investigation is needed to expose the entire ‘danda’ that causing severe loss to the exchequer.
Those millers who have been indulging in such illegal activities always used to say about heavy losses incurred to them. Every time millers won’t speak other than the issue of losses. Then the government won’t have any chance to speak on other issue, remain in silent and show indifferent attitude towards the millers. They used to Ancash this government weakness and continue their illegal ‘danda’ behind the screen. Really speaking only in Telangana government gave enormous freedom to the millers. Here there is no need for them to pay deposit amount. In other states any miller has to deposit specific amount prescribed by the state government. In Telangana millers misusing the freedom given by the government and continue their illegal rice business every time saying about heavy losses. Like that they want to get sympathy from the people by putting blame on the government. But in the behind screen what is happening is totally different. This is not known to the people. It is not possible for common man to understand the mischief caused by some millers who are doing illegal business. The exemption given by the government on deposit is the main cause for all this illegal ‘danda’. Behind giving exemption on deposit the government intention is to encourage millers. Unfortunately this gentleness attitude of the government turns lenient for the millers. Now they are selling out their rice without knowledge of the government. In this course they always cheat the government with their sweet voices about losses. In this episode officials are also playing their role successfully taking every care not to expose their ‘danda’ and accumulating corruption money. In this course government should take severe action on such fraudulent millers which can create fear among others and prevent them from doing so in future.
