It is Banjara Hills Road No: 14. Once this place was covered with full of stones. Now it transformed into a place where wealthy people live. That was the period of Chief Minister Chenna Reddy. At that time South India cine awards function was going on in Chennai. Received invitation from Cine personalities, Chenna Reddy attended that meeting. Speaking on that occasion he invited cine personalities to shift film industry to Hyderabad. He also assured them, if they come all facilities including land will be provided by the Government. He also told them that house sites will be given to cine workers. If entire film industry wants to shift, he gave assurance to accept any proposals they put forth. After that, cine people began to come to Andhra Pradesh for film productions and used to return back to Chennai (then Madras). This caused heavy burden on cine producers with exorbitant costs. Even actors also faced lot of problems. In this background producers asked then Andhra Pradesh Government for sites to construct studios. Immediately Chenna Reddy responded positively and asked them for proposals. After receiving permissions Annapurna, Ramanaidu, Sarathi, Padmalaya studios constructions successfully completed. At that time then Government also gave site for Bhagyanagar Studio construction. That is now Road No: 14. There studio continued for some time. Films shootings were held there, but not in full-fledged form. In the course of time Banjara Hills once forest area totally transformed into concrete jungle. With this site costs abnormally increased. With the construction of Ramoji film city, film shootings in other studios gradually reduced in number. In such circumstances illegal constructions started in the studios like Annapurna. Really speaking, the site allocated for film shootings, shall be utilised for that purpose only. Selling or doing any constructions can be treated as illegal. Looking at the illegal constructions at Annapurna studio, the owners of Bhagyanagar studio sold out their land to Raghavendra constructions.
During the time of United Andhra Pradesh, these lands did not have much value. But after the formation of Telangana there was no single yard of land in Banjara hills area. Like that number of buildings constructed. Only some people know about once existed Bhagyanagar Studio in that area. Most of the people now forget about that studio. This has become a boon to Raghavendra constructions. Then town planner and Tahasildar extended their cooperation. With that Bhagyangar Studio owners sold out their site. As per rules in that place no constructions shall be taken place. Otherwise Government has the power to take such land under its possession. But after the formation of separate state city planner belongs to GHMC extended his full support and gave permissions to Raghavendra constructions to launch its construction activities. Behind the Bhagyanagar Studio there lies 1000 yards Government land. Now the Raghavendra Constructions Company occupied those 1000 acres of land with the cooperation extended by then MRO. Like that Raghavendra Constructions Company succeeded in making all related officials in favour of it. Not only that Government land but also 20 feet nala that present before that site, now shrink to 4feet. This favour also completed with the help of GHMC workers. Without involving themselves, the company has done silently without arising any problem.
Looking this, local people submitted their applications regarding this episode. None of the official’s responded and reluctant to show files regarding this. Not only that, Tahasildar threatened them ‘if you want you can search for files in the rooms’. No official cooperated with the local people. Concerned officials failed to stop the illegal constructions made by Raghavendra Construction Company in Studio land. Not only that the company also illegally occupied 1000 yards of Government land. ‘Neti Dhatri’ previously exposed this scam. But there was no response from the officials. If consulted any official, ‘I was not present at that time’, this is the answer receiving. Everybody knows who were responsible for this scam. But none of them move their lips. Now Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that, illegal occupations in Government will not be tolerated and stern action will be taken. Still officials are indifferent to take action.
Officials are also negligent towards the applications submitted by people in this regard. Hundreds of crores of worth land occupied and shared by private persons. They are minting money by selling such land with highest cost. Even now Government shall act decisively and resort to stop the illegal constructions at Bhagyangar Studio. At first Government shall take the land into its possession. In the name of constructions, illegal occupants increased and they are putting their every effort to take the land into their possession. This is the reason lands in surrounding areas of Hyderabad got some problems. Illegally occupying the lands and taking bank loans, in the name of realtors resort to construct skyscrapers. Such builders will sell the apartments in the land they constructed, return back with huge profits. Now Chief Minister Revanth Reddy gave assurances to stop such illegal constructions. Let us see how far he will get success in fulfilling his assurance.
