The announcement of candidates from opposition parties has been made for Khammam Lok Sabha seat. But all of them are in full dilemma and expressing doubt even on getting deposit. Especially Nama Nageswar Rao went on depression when BRS announced ticket to him for Khammam seat. Contesting against Prasad Reddy is nothing but colliding with a hill. 
Generally leaders compete to get ticket from their party. But for Khammam seat the situation is totally different where no opposition leader wants to remain in fray against Prasad Reddy. It is learnt that, ‘Our party has thrown me in flames by giving ticket’, Nama Nageswar Rao expressing his opinion unofficially before his closest allies. When compare to previous, now entire situation in Khammam is totally different. Three months back sweeping victory of Congress caused the opposition parties to fell in deep depression. We can easily assess the position of remaining opposition parties, when BRS remains in full depression after Assembly elections. BJP is facing pitiable situation. Once, BJP has made unsuccessful attempt to convince to Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy to join in the party. As a leader who correctly asses the opinion of the people, Ponguleti never heed to BJP trails and joined Congress. After joining the party he has shown his strength by winning the Assembly seats in the district and made like strong fort for Congress. Once, Khammam district remain strong hold for Telgugu Desam party. But with the advent of Ponguleti, entire scene changed and entire district turned in favour of Congress party. To achieve this success, Ponguleti put his relentless efforts to turn the opinion of people in favour of Congress. Since four decades there is no such a strong leader like Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy in the district. He kept his word to eliminate BRS from the district. He also organised large scale public meeting in Khammam and successfully created an opinion that Congress is regained its strong position. That is the nature of powerful political play of Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy. In these circumstances contesting in the Lok Sabha elections is nothing but suicidal act for opposition parties.
It is learnt that the leaders of BJP and BRS remain in worry about their political future. Especially the opposition candidates are left in full of confusion.
When we observe the overall situation in Khammam, now totally transformed which is quite opposite to previous politics in the district. Now Ponguleti brothers gained total control on district politics. When Ponguleti was in BRS, he totally consolidated the political situation in favour of his party. Looking at all these things, in Khammam district parties’ strength is completely dependent on Ponguleti brothers. That means their presence in a party raises its strength and transforms the district into its favour. In other words we can say that, district politics are now totally in the hands of Ponguleti brothers. Srinivas Reddy monitors overall political situation and Prasad Reddy mainly concentrate on field level politics. Time to time solving the problems arouse in various levels Prasad Reddy facilitates his brother to concentrate on higher level politics. Like that Prasad Reddy now became very close to party cadre and people. This was the main reason when these two brothers left BRS and joined Congress, entire party cadre and people also changed along with these brothers. This is enough to understand how these brothers give preference to party cadre. In previous there remain confusion on the constituency in the district that can be allocated to Srinivasa Reddy to contest. This made Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy to maintain close contacts with his followers in entire district. That attitude now turned in favour of Ponguleti family.
Really speaking Ponguleti family is not confined to Khammam
When contested for MP seat as YSRCP candidate in 2014, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy toured entire Telangana. As YSRCDP President he became well known to entire Telangana masses. He has number of followers in entire Telangana. At that time he not only won Khammam Lok Sabha seat but also two Assembly seats for the party. Then only he got recognition as state leader. From then onwards Ponguleti brothers gradually became much more strong leaders’ even opponents tried to reduce their dominance. The efforts of opposition leaders left vain and Ponguleti brothers got recognition as iconic leaders in the district. One of these two Prasad Reddy now contesting from Khammam for Lok Sabha means you can easily understand the election results that they come in favour.
War one side in Khammam
Now entire district politics turned towards Congress. Party senior leader Bhatti Vikramarka is representing the Madhira Constituency and other senior leaders Tummala Nageswar Rao and Pongulati Srinivasa Reddy all of them are ministers from the district. In this situation winning chances for Prasad Reddy remain strong. Now there are no discussions on who remain winner but estimations continue on how much majority that will gain by Prasad Reddy. When three powerful Cabinet Ministers from the district concentrating on elections, no one can expect even in their dream about opposition chances. Now opposition parties forcefully allocated tickets to their candidates. They also assured to bear the election expenditure. Now Nama Nageswar Rao remains in dilemma, on how to face this paradox situation. One is it is highly impossible to win the election. Secondly how to sustain this defeat where once he easily emerged victorious. It is reliable to contest when there is tough fight or winning chances are more. When there are no such chances what is the reason behind remain in fray? This is the question that keeping Nama Nageswar Rao in utter confusion. Party might have assured to bear the election expenditure. But he knows well how that will become true. This was the reason for Nama Nageswar Rao reluctance to contest the elections. He is in the fear of facing the strong political opponent Ponguleti. Now entire Khammam district remain in full josh in favour of Congress. After Assembly Elections Prasad Reddy continue to remain with people and spening sufficient time for party cadre. So everyone expressing their favour towards Prasad Reddy and they are in strong opinion that he will get the party ticket. If he gets ticket, Ponguleti brothers may rewrite the history of Kammam with unprecedented majority.
